As You Were - Artist Reception

Thoughts about the As You Were artist reception.

What an amazing experience these two days were. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. First the artist gathering on Friday and then the Artist reception on Saturday. Walking into a room and instantly feeling you are among people who get you and understand you was the greatest experience in my life.

Being able to have my works displayed in the same exhibition along these other amazing artists is both humbling and a true honor. Having them all together really takes the meaning of each work and amplifies it into something so much bigger. What it is amplified into, well that’s up to each individual person who sees the exhibition.

And I was surprised at myself. I wasn’t nervous, or worried, I was calm. I usually have a thousand thoughts in my head going on and there was just one: just stand there, answer any questions, and let people decide for themselves. This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted people to come in, see the works, and decide for themselves what the point of it all is. And that’s what they did.

Meanwhile, I had a lot of amazing friends come and witness this all in person.

Speaking of which, it’s still up. You can go see it.
